III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection, Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />Middle Pyeatt #2 Dry None <br />Middle Pyeatt #1 Small pool of water approx. 7ft. None <br /> Dischar a was sli htl cloud <br />Ditches and drainages throughout the mine site remain in good condition. No significant gullying was <br />noted. Pit A still accumulating a pool of tvnoll' water in bottom. This pit has not been pumped since <br />February inspection. <br />Backfill & Gradini?: <br />The operator has a small amount of coal remaining in the A pit. A Pit remains open to allow TCC to <br />extract the last of this coal. TMI is evaluating future mine plan of Pit A and G-strike Pit <br />Two draglines were located at Z pit. The eastern dragline is working the boxcut spoil and has begun to <br />grade it out. Some of the material has been used to fill in the pit to continue pit progression towards the <br />south. The second dragline was removing overburden on one of the higher elevation coal seams. <br />Spoil located to the west of F-pit is being graded out. 2004 F pit grading remains in good condition <br />without signs of gullying. <br />Explosives: The operator mentioned that TMI may consider submitting a revision to move the explosives <br />storage area further to the East. <br />Topsoil: Areas reclaimed in 2004 at the D pit, F pit, and H pit weathered the snow melt well. No signs of <br />rilling or gullying were observed on these recently reclaimed areas. Drainages and ditches were <br />functioning well. None of the ditches had blown out and all runoff was appropriately directed within <br />these 2004 reclaimed parcels. Topsoil piles through out mine site had Topsoil markers, were well <br />vegetated and no sign of weed yet this year. <br />Fish and wildlife: .Pronghorn antelope were plentiful throughout the mine site. A Golden Eagle was <br />observed perched on the haul road berm adjacent to the LOM haul road. <br />Reclamation success: SL06 remains under review by DMG.
