This processing and loadout site has been inactive since June 2001
after the closure of the Lorencito Mine (#C-96-084), Maintenance and monitoring are the
only activities currently ongoing at this site. The weather was warm and mild. Ground
conditions on this day were extremely dry.
Hydrologic Balance
Due to the general lack of any form of precipitation m the region, Pond 8 continues to be dry
and operations to remove sediment continue. The ditch berm above the inlet to the black
culvert that crosses the Purgatoire River west of the prep plant requires a minor amount of
work to prevent a breach dunng high flows.
Processing Waste
The maintenance work required west of the RDA conveyor has been completed. Riprap has
been added at the turn m the ditch above the large culvert. The reapirs above the culvert
outlet have also been completed.
~u!ly :epair-
aocY. a: outlet
P
V \ `~I .! ~ ~ -. rte` t4r~}~
~ lam.
