<br />INSPECTION REPOP,T <br />PAGE 2 <br />On the Hubbard Creek substation #2, they have pulled out the <br />transformers, removed the gravel, planted the open area and put in a <br />sediment pond. The casino down into the mine has been capped but has <br />not been reclaimed because it is to be left open for monitoring <br />purposes. The concrete pads have to be pulled out and the topsoil <br />replaced. The US Forest Service has asked that the area be left as <br />is with the cut embanl;ement and flat area were the old pad wags so it <br />can be used for a parking lot for access to the high country. <br />The Bear Creek erhaust fan has been pulled out and the portals, <br />intake and exhaust, were sealed and bar_kfilled. The 100,000 gallon <br />mine water tank has been drained but it is still in place. Some of <br />the transformers have been pulled bast others remain and the concrete <br />pad has to be pulled. The eight foot culvert on the Bear Creek <br />crossing to the intake has to be removed and the creek bed should be <br />replaced. <br />All of the PCB transformers on the property have been pulled out <br />of service and stored in a ser_ured building in the Elk Creek drainaq_e <br />north of the main portal, shop and administration area. Three large <br />transformers, three middle sized and one small one are to be picked <br />up by a subcontractor for disposal. <br />The following permit documents were available fc~r review at the <br />mine: <br />Temporary cessation letter pasted with the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Division, 2/21/86. The Colorado Mined Land P,eclamation <br />Mining Permit expires 10/11/68. The NFDES permit, CO-1000132 expires <br />3/31/90 fc~r discharge points 001 inclusive thru 010. The #8 pond in <br />the Elk Creek yard was. certified as being built per design, June 25, <br />1987.
