Support Facilities
Road graders continue to park in the office area. This area is a small area exemption and is
remains the responsibility of the mine operator to maintain. A rock barrier has been
established at the service area to keep traffic out of reseeded areas. The loadout appears
unchanged since the last inspection.
Topsoil
Three topsoil piles exist along the Lorencito Canyon Haul Road They were appropriately
marked with signs. This topsoil will not be used for reclamation of the road as the roads will
remain permanent. This material should be hauled and spread on the disturbed area of the
mine now that the operator has access to a truck to transport this material. This should
avoid any potential loss of topsoil due to activities along the roadway by others. The large
topsoil pile at the loadout shows some new vegetation growth but generally the pile is poorly
vegetated. This large pile should be reseeded if it is to remain in storage for any length of
time No new redistribution of topsoil has occurred this season due to inclement weather.
Reveaetation
Previously reseeded areas are beginning to show signs of vigorous growth due to excellent
spring moisture and warming soil conditions. Reseeding has been limited to areas
associated with repairs completed to drainage control features. The operator should
complete the reseeding of all areas of previous topsoil laydown this field season.
• ~
'• ~ "'
y
.yam y .,/ ~~
Revegetation of the sadUle area.
