There is an 8 acre processing area near the site entrance that includes a number of
buildings, silos, and other mining related structures, some with concrete foundations. A
review of the reclamation plan indicates there are no provisions for leaving any of these
structures during final reclamation. In the event the operator desires to leave these
structures in place during final reclamation, a technical revision to the reclamation plan
will be necessary. The revision application should include the following items: a) a revised
reclamation plan map to address which structures will remain, b) a request for a change in
post-mining land use for the acreage in question, c) a description of the acreage involved
and alternative plans for reclamation, if any, and d) written verification of acceptance from
Adams County for the requested change in land use to leave the structures in place following
reclamation. In the event the operator does not wish to leave the structures in place during
final reclamation, the Division will schedule a follow-up field inspection with Mr. O'Brian
to verify the number, size, and cost of structures to be removed.
