.~ .r
We will install the two foot diameter culvert immediately west
of pond #3 as shown on the drawing. We would like to eliminate the
two foot diameter culvert directly down stream of pond #3. The
reason for this is that we no longer need access to the property
directly east of that point. Another reason is that an omen ditch
is much easier to maintain.
We will construct the 8' diameter catch basin called for on
the drawing.
The additional pond I constructed west of the haul road was
something I did at my expense as an extra measuFe to contr~~l T.H.E.
storm water and sediment. It appears you have many conce:=ns about
this pond, so I will eliminate it and direct the water down the
west side of the haul road.
The foundation pad you mentioned east of the scale is for a
quarry office which is now in the scale house. We checked with
Fremont County to see if an amendment was needed for our
conditional use permit. They said all we needed was a building
permit. We had no idea we would need to amend our D.M.G. permit.
I didn't have any idea it would need to be included in our
reclamation bond. If this is the case, it was an oversi~lht on my
part. Could you please furnish me with the rules and re~3ulations
concerning the construction of a quarry office on a quarry site?
Could you please let me know if we must strictly adhere to the
plan as approved or if there is any leeway for variances as long as
we achieve the same results on the storm water collection and
transfer.
I will get to work on the obvious things that I know will need
attention. I will await your reply for any questionable changes.
Once I receive your reply, I believe I can have everything on
your list completed within 30 days if this is acceptable. I will
give you notice when we are completely finished 'with the
improvements so you may make a final inspection.
Also, Tom Schreiner approved the alluvial materia]. on each
side of the new haul road at the upper end of the road just before
it intersects the old haul road for use as topsoil ]`.or final
reclamation. He said if we would haul it onto the permitted site
and stockpile it he would reduce our reclamation bond accordingly.
I believe there is a substantial amount in the bond for securing
topsoil. He said load count on our trucks would be fine for
measurement. We were going to begin stockpiling this material as
soon as we finish the storm water drainage work. Does Tom's
division still stand on this or do we need to start from square one
on the topsoil issue. I would hate to hand 30,000-40,000 Yd' on
to the site and then not get the bond reduced.
