Permit # M-77-022
RECEIVED
AUG 141997
Division of Minerals & GecIO9Y
L~p~~
p t~iA
o .:w ._.. o. o
DELTA
874-9759
This letter is to respond to your observations and problems noted in the inspection report. I
will supply a short response to the observations in the order presented and then explain what we
have done to correct the problems noted. We plan to submit an amendment to make minor
revision in the mine and change the proposed future use from river bottom and small lake to
Industrial to comply with the landowner wishes.
OBSERVATIONS
• We have begun to install additional corner markers on the mine perimeter as you
requested.
• We concur with this observation. As noted in the original permit this was a normal
a;currence and could go on indefinitely.
• This practice stopped the next day and we see no reason to include it in the permit at this
time.
• Please note that the original Mining and Reclamation Plans were designed per SCS
recommendations because the site did not contain any topsoil or growth medium. Even
if we wanted to, recoiling this area would be a waste of money since in a normal year the
river floods the site and would remove any topsoil placed on it. This also applies to grass
seed.
PROBLEMS
1. The performance warranty was filled in and returned to Lavern Lemay on July 14, 1997.
2. This problem is well underway we expect it to be completed by the corrective date of 8-
15-97.
