Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection conducted by Joe Dudash of the Colorado DMCi. Bill Bear represented <br />the operator during the inspection. There has been on and off precipitation at the site. <br />Main Mine Site <br />The road Ieading up to the utility bench was dry and in good condition. The berm on the outside edge <br />of the road was in place. The outslope of the utility bench eras stable. The outside edge berm and the <br />ditch at the back of the utility bench were funetiona[. The roekfall protection berm above the bench <br />tvas stable. <br />There was a small amount of coal stockpiled on the D-seam portal bench. The portal highwall was <br />stable. The culverts on the bench were functional, although a hvo foot diameter rock had fallen near <br />the inlet of the main portal bench culvert and probably should be removed. The two material storage <br />areas were clean and in order. The locks on the cap and powder houses were on. <br />The paved haul road was in good condition, with the guardrail in place. The main topsoil stockpile was <br />well vegetated. The collection and diversion ditches were functional and the topsoil signs were up. The <br />material storage area was in neat order. <br />The B-seam portal bench was in good condition, with stable cut and fill slopes. The concreie waII on <br />the bench's outer edge and the surface water drainage system were functioning well. The material <br />storage area across the haul road was stable, with no signs of siurnping or erosional gullies. Some coal <br />had fallen off of the overhead conveyor upgradient of this bench and the operator was cleaning it up. <br />There was a moderate amount of coal being stockpiled on the main coal stockpile bench. The berm on <br />the outside edge of this bench was functional. There were no signs of fugitive dust going offsite, <br />however. The wash plant was in operation. The amount of gob material being generated has decreased <br />recently. The culverts and ditches in this azea were all functioning well. There was a small amount of <br />water in Pond B. The float was attached to the primary discharge tube hose. The pond embankment <br />was stable and spilways were functional. The ditches leading into Pond B had sufficient capacity. <br />The mine ID sign was up at the entrance to the mine site and contained the correct information. <br />Surface disturbance mazkers were up around the site. <br />Coal Refuse Stockpite Atea <br />The road leading to the two coal refuse stockpiles was in good condition. The road outside berm and <br />the road ditch were in place. There was a moderate amount of standing water in Pond C and Pond 17. <br />The spillways were functional. The topsoil stockpiles in this azea were well vegetated and the topsoil <br />signs in place. <br />
