Curly cup gumweed, cedar, and rubber rabbitbrush were also noted. Although
some evidence indicates domestic cattle grazing early in the season, ungrazed grasses give
the impression that grazing had occurred earlier this spring Cattle were not observed on the
site during the inspection. Weeds do not appear to be a significant concern with only an
occasional thistle observed. Vegetation at the site has recovered nicely from a number of
consecutive drought years and appears to be arresting some of the rills and gullies at the
site.
Fish and Wildlife
Evidence suggests that elk and deer graze the reclaimed area, especially in the spring as
grass and forts emerge. During the inspection, a bear was sighted just north of Chen's Hill
in the drainage. Evidence also suggests that birds use the trees and rock piles on Chen's
Hill for perching and roosting. Various rodents also have taken up residence in the reclaimed
area
