Colowyo C-1981-019 <br />27 March 2007 ~~ <br />Pg 4/5 <br />Hydrologic Balance (cont.): - Gulch A Pond (cont.) <br />-Sump 5 was filled with sediment due to all of the rain and runoff from the snow melt <br />that has occurred recently. The sump needs to be cleaned. The sump appeared to <br />be stable at the time of the inspection. <br />- It should be noted that Tony said that all of the sumps, culverts and ditches have <br />been scheduled to be cleaned by the Bower Brothers. They will be on site as soon as <br />the weather permits. <br />Backfilling and Grading: -The operator has almost completed the work on the East <br />side of the East Pit with the 101 dragline. The dragline has walking back to the north <br />and is working on the final cut in the wedge it is working on backfilling. <br />-The 102 dragline was working on some reclamation at the west edge of the West Pit. <br />It will continue to perform reclamation until the shot on 27 March 2007 is completed <br />then it will walk back to the B-Seam. <br />Support Facilities: -The facilities area was wet and muddy but in good condition at <br />the time of the inspection. No problems were noted with the area. <br />-The Gossard Loadout was wet but appeared to be stable and in good condition at <br />the time of the inspection. <br />General Mine Plan Compliance: -The 101 dragline is in the East Pit performing <br />reclamation. <br />-The 102 dragline was working on reclamation in the West Pit. <br />-The 103 dragline was idle and waiting to walk to the B-Seam after the 27 March <br />2007 shot. <br />-The 1 14 shovel operation was currently working on removing the A-Seam <br />overburden. <br />-The operator was removing and hauling coal from the X-seam at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />-The operator was preparing a large shot for the length of the B-Seam bench at the <br />time of the inspection. The shot was planned for 27 March 2007 at 16:00. <br />General Mine Plan Compliance (cont): -The operator was dumping overburden in <br />the mid-pit area of the West Pit. <br />- The mining at the Colowyo Mine appears to be progressing as discussed and <br />approved in the PAP. <br />Air Resource Protection: -All of the areas of the mine were well compacted and <br />stable at the time of the inspection so there were no problems with fugitive dust. <br />There were also no problems with fugitive dust at the coal stockpile at the Gossard <br />Loadout. <br />
