The pond embankment was well vegetated and appeared to be <br />stable at the time of the inspection. No erosional problems noted on the <br />embankment at the time of the inspection. The emergency spillway is an open, <br />trapezoidal riprapped channel. The spillway was stable and well maintained at the <br />time of the inspection. There are two large piles of sediment/coal fines at the inlet of <br />the pond from the cleaning of the train tunnel. <br />-The Stoker Siding Pond (NPDES 005A) was not inspected at the time of the inspection <br />due to near white-out conditions while at the Gossard Loadout. <br />-The Prospect Pond (NPDES 007A) contained water approximately six feet below the <br />discharge pipe and was not discharging at the time of the inspection. The pond <br />embankment was well vegetated and appeared to be stable at the time of the <br />inspection. No erosional problems noted on the embankment at the time of the <br />inspection. The emergency spillway is an open, trapezoidal riprapped channel. The <br />spillway was stable and well maintained at the time of the inspection. <br />- The Streeter Pond (NPDES 001 A) contained water approximately nine inches below <br />the discharge pipe and was discharging from the weep hole on the pipe at the time <br />of the inspection. The discharge measured 0.1 on the flume. The discharge <br />appeared to be clean at the time of the inspection. The pond embankment was <br />well vegetated and appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. No <br />erosional problems noted on the embankment at the time of the inspection. The <br />emergency spillway is an open, trapezoidal riprapped channel. The spillway was <br />stable and well maintained at the time of the inspection. <br />-The Gulch A Pond (NPDES 004A) contained water approximately two feet below the <br />discharge pipe and was not discharging at the time of the inspection. The pond <br />embankment was well vegetated and appeared to be stable at the time of the <br />inspection. No erosional problems noted on the embankment at the time of the <br />inspection. The emergency spillway is an open, trapezoidal riprapped channel. The <br />spillway was stable and well maintained at the time of the inspection. Goodspring <br />Creek was flowing at the time of the inspection. <br />-Sump 1 was filled with sediment due to all of the rain and runoff from the snow melt <br />that has occurred recently. The sump needs to be cleaned. The sump appeared to <br />be stable at the time of the inspection. <br />-Sump 2 was filled with sediment due to all of the rain and runoff from the snow melt <br />that has occurred recently. The sump needs to be cleaned.
