The Lone
Pine area consists of approximately 5 acres and the "thermal event" area consists of 15.5
acres.
Lone Pine area
We were accompanied on this part of the inspection by Mr. Denny Wilson, the
landowner's ranch manager. The substation and gravel was pulled in 2003. All areas
have had highwalls eliminated and have been returned to approximate original contour.
The road has been left as a permanent feature for access to the ranch lands above the
mine disturbance. There were five road CMP's to the disturbed area and all were open
and in good condition.
Drainage has been reestablished. All areas have been seeded and mulched and a fair
stand of vegetation exists. The development waste rock area was seeded in 1996 and the
hay bales have degraded, but they are no longer required based on the vegetation.
The area appears to have met the requirements for Phase I bond release.
"Thermal event" area
All areas have had any walls eliminated and have been returned to approximate original
contour. The road to this area is a permanent Forest Service access road.
Drainage has been reestablished. All areas have been seeded and mulched. Revegetation
success varies on the disturbed area. A striking difference exists between the USFS lands
