Compliance caith Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act <br />CRS 1973, as amended 39-33-201, et. sue., <br />and the <br />Rules and Regulations Issued Pursuant to the Act <br />This includes a listing of the particular provisions of the regulatory program which were <br />examined during the course of this inspection, and identifies enforcement actions taken <br />during the inspection for failure to comply with the Rules and Regulations, the Act and <br />the permit. <br />4.02 - Signs and P1arkers <br />The mine identification sign was in place. The sign was moved closer to the mine <br />operation because of house construction near the former location. <br />Perimeter markers must be placed around that portion of the permit area that is disturbed <br />by surface operations. <br />4.03 - Roads <br />The roads within the area were well maintained. <br />4.05 - Hydrologic Balance <br />The upper diversion ditch needs to be cleaned at a point about 200 feet south of the north <br />end. <br />The diversion ditch along the refuse pile road needs to be deepened. <br />A concrete sill has been placed around the fuel storage tanks to keep spills from entering <br />the drainage system. <br />4.06 - Topsoil <br />No topsoil has been previously salvaged at this mine. However, in preparation for dumping <br />coal refuse in the recently approved area, the material that covered the old strip pit has <br />been salvaged. <br />
