Finally, there is some erosion in the riprapped channel leading to culvert BC-2 that
needs some repair. Due to the large riprap rock size, the runoff has jumped outside of the
riprapped channel. A better grading of riprap appears to be needed.
SprinQS and Seeps
The East Pyeatt spring just below the East Pyeatt no. 3 pond was flowing at about 2 GPM. At the.
Cottonwood and Wapiti springs, the flow was about 10 GPM. There was a trickle at the seep just
below the No Name no. 5 pond. The spring just above the Johnson no. 6 pond was flowing at
about 20 GPM. Below the Coyote pond, that spring was flowing at about 10 to 15 GPM. The
flow at the Flume Gulch drainage was about 20 to 30 GPM.
Reclamation
The operator has hired a full time herbicide perso-. The spraying of noxious weeds was taking
place during the inspection. Noxious weeds were observed at several places around the minesite
during the inspection.
The operator has been restricted in the repair of gullies due to the wet conditions at the minesite.
No major gullying was observed. However, there was a gully in the East Pyeatt drainage, below
culvert A-8, [hat needs attention. The runoff has jumped out of [he riprapped channel and is
beginning to cut a new channel.
