Perimeter and topsoil markers
are in place and are being maintained.
Hydrologic system: A sediment pond located on the East side of
the disturbed area and a small sump on the West side along
with the associated diversions control surface runoff. A few
areas, noted above, are under review for SAE status. They are
well vegetated with no signs of erosion.
Discharge structures: The pond has a combination spillway
system consisting of a closed conduit principal and an open
rock rip-rapped emergency. The outslopes of the structure are
well vegetated.
Haul/access road: The roads are well maintained and surfaced
with a durable material. As noted above, Mag-Chloride needs to
be applied in the Spring and Fall to ensure compliance with
the air emissions permit.
Topsoil: Two storage areas exist - one large pile on the West
side of the permit and a smaller one located on the East
boundary. Mass balance calculations are being conducted as
part of the Mid-Term Review. The structures are well vegetated
and being reviewed for SAE status.
Current activities: Approximately 13 acres have been disturbed
with 20 acres permitted.
