Processing Waste:
During this inspection, material from the east yard gob pile was being removed, as approved in MR 47,
as fill for the stacking yard.
Toosoil•
The topsoil piles at Elk Creek, Substation three, and Upper Hubbazd Creek appears to be in good and
stable condition.
Revegetation•
• Seeding has been completed at the two disturbed topsoil piles, the clean water diversion ditches,
and portions of the new roads. Continue this seeding to stabilize these soils.
• Continue to keep DMG informed on your attempts to do a research project with Colorado State
University on revegetation of the gob above the foadout azea.
Others:
Weed control continues to be a problem in the disturbed areas even with good attempts being made by Oxbow
Mine. DMG recommends two possible aids in this endeavor:
• Contact the Colorado State University for recommendations of some of the newer registered chemicals
that might help in obtaining better results on the noxious weeds.
• Look into obtaining a power sprayer to enable more coverage during the most opportune time for
spraying.
-^
