III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
these reports were supplied to Mr. Peterson. The first quarter 2007 sediment pond inspection report
had not been filed in the files at the time of the inspection. The operator needs to file these reports as
soon as possible. It was noted that the 2006 Annual Hydrology Report was dated March 2006. DRMS
believes that this report was completed in March 2007. Mr. Peterson was noticed of this discrepancy,
and made appropriate date corrections.
Reve etag lion: Vegetation throughout the mine site appeazed very good. Shrub establishment in the
southern portions of the mine site (reclaimed 720 pit) is very good. Good vegetative diversity was
observed o the reclaimed mine and loadout areas. Older reclamation on the Marr pit azea that pre-dates
1981, were less diverse but appeared to have good vegetative cover established. Domestic livestock
grazing had not occurred on the mine site south of county road 12E yet this year. Cattle were observed
grazing in the reclaimed Pond G area and had been on the northern portion of Pit 1.
4 of 5 WHITE -File YELLOW -Operator PINK -Specialist
