Wright, OSM <br />Edzel Pugh, OSM <br />Weather: variable ranging from sunny to cloudy with rain showers <br />Comments <br />This was a complete random sample inspection done to evaluate the State of <br />Colorado's pertormance in administering their program and to determine if the <br />Raton Creek Mine was operating in accordance with the program regulations. <br />Paperwork and records were reviewed at the mine office during the morning of <br />June 9. The on the ground portion of the inspection was done from the late <br />morning of June 9 through the afternoon of June 10. <br />As a result of an earlier inspection of the mine by the State of Colorado the <br />following notices of violation had been issued and were still outstanding during the <br />June inspection: <br />C-93-45 issued for failure to notify the Division of a highwall slide. <br />C-93-46 issued for failure to submit designs and certifications. <br />C-93-47 issued for failure to maintain records and reports. <br />C-93-48 issued for unapproved structures. <br />C-93-49 issued for maintenance of drainage controls. <br />C-93-50 issued for failure to maintain signs and markers. <br />C-93-51 issued for improper noncoal waste storage. <br />C-93-52 issued for failure to install diversions. <br />C-93-84 issued for slopes of refuse pile. <br />
