The site is located approximately 1.5 miles south and 1.5 miles
east of Bristol, Colorado. The pit is situated on a gravelly outslope terrace of Buffalo
Creek.
The pit has recently been active and did have a product stockpile located nearly in the
middle of the disturbed area. There are also topsoil stockpiles located at both the north
and south ends of the pit. The site did not have a mine identification sign and the permit
boundaies were not clearly marked. Both of these items are being cited as problems on page
three of this report along with required corrective actions.
The current disturbed area does not appear to accurately reflect the affected area that is
presented on the approved mine plan map. The overall disturbed area still appears to be less
than permitted amount of 10 minus acres especially since no disturbance has occurred to date
in the pasture area to the east, however, without having the permit area clearly marked it
is difficult to pinpoint where the the actual affected area is supposed to bE~. As a result
of this discrepancy, the operator is being required to submit a technical revision to the
permit which clarifies the dimensions and location of the affected area. The boundary
markers should be installed based on this map, once it is approved.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Don Koehn
OPERATOR Prowers County
STREET P.O.
