Bob found that <br />Siern had allowed uacantrolled runoff and sedimerrtution to affect arras adjaoem to the <br />mine acceu road and Bob described the corrective acdon necessary to be completed by <br />September 30, 2001. Dtuing Augurt end September, Sleet completed work on the <br />roadway u required in Bob's findings. <br />In his roport Bob requirod the fblbwing corrective actloa: 'The operator must remedy <br />the ieadequete drainage pattern and runoff control structrtt+es on the roadway, such as: <br />directing runoff to the inside road edge, discontinuing ux of fines u and earthen berm <br />nurteriel, and replace missing barrlers by something moro substamW or appropriate." <br />BeAxe the improvements were made, the road had been sloped outward. Any storm <br />runoff tended to flow to the outebde of the road, through gaps in the jersey barriers and <br />over the tdge. Sierra had mempted <br />to keep this runoff from going <br />through the jersey barriers by <br />Placing flees from the quarry along <br />the base of the barriers, However, <br />this rrsuhed in small quantities of <br />the Snes being carried over the edge <br />with runoff a~ the atbrequerk <br />complaint by the McIruyres. <br />In order to accomplish the <br />eorrec;tive actions rcquined, Sierra <br />
