T

•
(Page 3)
MINE ID / OR PROSPECTING ID ~ M-87-049
INSPHCTION DATE 2 4 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GSC
The dewatering activities at this operation have been confined to the Alluvial aquifer. Two
of Me, Reeeler'e wells are completed in the Alluvial aquifer and the newer (390' deep) well
is completed in an Arapahoe Formation aquifer. Any problems which have occurred in this
deeper well do not appear to be related to the dewatering activities at the Bromley Lakes
operation due to the extremely limited chance for communication between these two aquifers.
Me. Reeeler'e Alluvial irrigation well has a measured water level (25'-30' bgl)
similar to the 1966 depth she reported (27•bgl). This suggests that the reduced productivity
may not result from a lowered water table but from reduced permeability at the well intake.
This can occur when the well screen and gravel pack (or the formation in which it ie
completed) become plugged with fine sediment. Considering the age of this well and the house
well, this could be what is happening. In addition, conversations with a representative of
the State Engineer and with Mr. Kenneth Timmerman indicate that this area has undergone
drought like conditions with a general lowering of water levels. There ie another
possibility that ground water levels locally may be affected by upgradient irrigation
practices.
The boundary markers are adequate except for the facility area. This area needs to be marked
more clearly. See PB-3.
I & E Contact Addreee
NAME Gerritt Lana ins, O.C.
