A site inspection of the Rocky Road Quarry was made at the request of the operator, who <br />recently inquired about the suitability of an area for release of reclamation <br />responsibility. Present during the inspection was Doug Bachli of Rocky Road Investment, <br />Inc. <br />2. Based on this inspector's review of the permit file, the area inspected known as ML1 (0.75 <br />acres) and PL4 (2.64 acres) was previously approved for an acreage reduction on April 22, <br />1998. The acreage o£ ML1 is released from any further reclamation responsibility. The <br />acreage of PL4 will be included in the operator's account for substitute acreage. (The <br />Colorado Mine Land Reclamation Board approved the operator's request for substitute <br />acreage on March 27, 1998. See attached correspondence dated April 2, 1998 for conditions <br />of approval). <br />2. The operator has permitted a total of 106.5 acres of which 25 acres may be disturbed <br />("affected") at any one time. The amount of financial warranty required for this <br />disturbance is $57, 200. (The operator has posted an adequate bond in the amount of <br />$57,2D0). The location of the 106.5 acres is defined by a land classification map and <br />land survey approved by the Division on April 1, 1998 under the terms of Technical <br />Revision No. 1. The land designations used in this report are based on the land <br />classification map in Technical Revision No. 1 received on January 30, 1998 and. titled <br />"Map 1 Benchmark: Nature and Status of All Affected Land, November 6, 1997." <br />3. For clarification, any pre-law disturbed lands not reaffected or used by Rocky Road <br />Investment, Inc. for the on-going quarry operation since permit M-1985-210 was issued will <br />not be considered as part of the 25 acres of allowable disturbance.
