III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below aze comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />Run-of--Mine Stocknile <br />There was no ponded water on top of the run-of--mine (ROM) stockpile. The collection and <br />diversion ditches were functional and culverts were clear. The ROM pond was dry. The pond <br />embankrnent appeazed to be stable and the spillways were functional. The road to the site was a <br />little muddy but was passable. The mine ID sign was up. However, the topsoil stockpile sign <br />needs to be placed backup. <br />Well Field <br />There was no snow cover at the well field. The mine Id sign was up and the road was muddy but <br />passable. The topsoil stockpile was beginning to green up. The topsoil sign was up. There was no <br />activity at the location. <br />IInii Train I,oadoui <br />There was no activity at the loadout. The mine ID signs were present and all three gates were <br />open. The sediment control system was functional. Diversion and collection ditches were <br />functional. Culverts had sufficient capacity and straw bales were in place. The sediment pond was <br />dry. <br />There were no problems with any of the structures at the loadout. There were no leaks at the main <br />fuel facility next to the shop and at the fuel tank neaz the substation. However, the berm <br />surrounding the fuel tank neaz the substation needs to be increased in heieht. <br />Highway Coal Stockpile <br />The azea is starting to green up. There were no signs of slope instability at the site. The sediment <br />pond was dry. The mine Id sign was present. <br />Records Checklist <br />The records were in compliance.
