This Annual
Report included updated maps and descriptions of the site activities conducted during 2002. I
included 2 copies of the maps with the Annual Report with the understanding that you will
receive one copy from the Division office in Denver. If you do not receive a copy of the new
maps, or if you need another set of maps for your records, please let me know and I will be sure
to send over a set.
The purpose of this letter is to review the past Inspection Reports and to report on past noted
items and issues. I hope this will "clear the record" for this Permit so we can answer all past
inquiries and have this documented in the Permit files.
I will refer to the individual Inspection Reports (and related correspondence if appropriate) as I
provide the reviews.
June 4, 2001 Inspection by Bob Oswald:
Corrective Action for lack of current maps: This item is now fully addressed with the new maps
submitted February 26, 2003. This issue was complicated by the necessity to determine which
sites are the continuing obligation of the Operator, to get new surveys completed, to coordinate
site reclamation work, and to finalize the new maps. The Operator appreciates the cooperation
of the Division in carefully working through the Permit records to determine the final
requirements to be addressed by the Operator.
Corrective Action for lack of Permit sierts and boundary markers: The issue of Permit
identification signs was initially addressed by installing a sign near County Road DD15 in
November 2001. This sign identified the Operator and Permit, but was not specific to any given
mine site due to the open question of which site(s) needed to be reclaimed by the Operator.
