Drainage control: The drainage runoff from the surface of the
waste pile is intended to flow to the Bench pond. It does not do
that at this time. Instead it impounds at the berm on the lower
side of the pile. This depression will be filled with waste and
the runoff directed to the ditch which will carry it to the pond.
The outlet of the under drain of the pile was observed to confirm
it is in place.
Surface stabilization: No signs of instability were observed.
Placement: Some material has been dumped which has not been
spread and compacted. As stated above the pile has been
constructed so as to leave a depression that impounds runoff from
the pile. Material will be moved from the top of the pile and
placed in this depression. This will be done in a manner which
will insure stability.
Impounding structures: No impoundments have been constructed
which will only serve the waste pile.
DISTANCE PROHIBITIONS
Roads: No public roads run through any part of the surface
disturbance of this operation. Roads which are considered public
do provide access to the operations. Rule changes are expected
which will require these public roads to be permitted, since
their primary purpose is to provide access to the mine and the
loadout.
Dwellings: NO dwellings are located within the distance limits.
Public buildings, churches, schools, etc.: None located within
the distance limits.
Cemeteries: None located within the distance limits.
12
