BLUE RIBBON - C-048-81
INSPECTION REPORT
PAGE TWO
3. The sewage line has been disconnected from the leach field due to
construction of the bench. The line currently discharges into Pond
#l. The Colorado Health Department will be notified of the system
change to ensure the discharge is in compliance with State
requirements. Although most of the mine workers were laid off, the
remaining employees may be using the office facilities and bath house.
4. Topsoil markers were not in place on the new topsoil piles. However,
this was fixed during the inspection. The operator also replaced the
mine I.D. sign that was knocked down.
5. The reservoir/sediment Pond #1 was dewatered to draw down the adjacent
alluvium. This allows easier construction of the base of the mine
bench.
6. Some ice was noted in the road culvert adjacent to Pond #3, which
should be watched if runoff should occur.
7. Cleanup along Hubbard Creek looked good however, snowcover made
observations difficult. Willows have been collected in case planting
is needed this spring. Only one small pile needs to be removed when
weather permits.
