Trapper Mine Phase 1 pe. 2
We dug soil replacement depth holes in several randomly selected areas and we took
hand held GPS readings at (most of) the soil sample sites. All soil replacement depths
observed met or exceeded the permit requirements of 12 inches + / - 2 inches.
We observed at least two sharptailed grouse flush at approx. N 40 26 133, W 107 34 4S0
on map block N-B-98-8.
We took slope measurements at approx. 7,4SS feet at N 40 25 380, W 107 33 416 at
F-A-03.
We observed standing water at the upper end of F-AB-99, and contours at this may be
suitable for a water impoundment location adjacent to undisturbed mountain shrub
habitat. Final reclamation contours on all these areas blended in well with undisturbed
areas, and will facilitate the approved post mining land uses.
All the proposed release areas on the eastern portion of the permit area were inspected on
April 14, with very similar observations as compared to the western permit areas, minor
erosion rill only, and topsoil replacement depths meeting or exceeding permit
requirements.
Area A-B-00 will be inter-seeded with a 400 foot by 100 foot strip.
Small erosion gully needing repair was noted in the main drainway of A-B-01.
This concluded our field inspection.
Please address any questions concerning this inspection report to Henry Austin,
Senior Reclamation Specialist, at haustin@osmre.sov or to (303) 844-1400 X1466.
