III. CONIIYSENTS - COMPI.rANCE
Hebw are comments on the inepcetla~n. The comment inch~de dlecvsakn oY obaervatlons made dun'ng the 6uPectlon
Commeats also de9c~e any mforcwad acdoos taken dtshig the ospection and me Sets or evldwce suppo~UOg the
aforcemmt actloa
The operator stated that culvert C-B6 had been blocked by ice or by crashing. It had been noticed
when the operator had flushed out a fire hydrant. If nmoffin the culvert backs up, the overIlow
will get into ditch D-C7 and flow into pond C. The drainage area for culvert C-B6 is very small.
The operator plans to deal with the culvert in the near future.
The operator decided to install a culvert from the gob pile topsoil stockpile area to pond D, rather
than rely solely on an SAE demonstration. This culvert will need to be shown on a map along with
a hydrology design. The operator still needs to put a grate over the drop structure at the inlet to
culvert C-B16.
There were no other problems with culverts and ditches, although not much could be seen due to
the snow cover.
'the operator has started a new topsoil stockpile just to the west of the covertlll stockpile. The
topsoil stockpile just to the west of pond C has been moved to the gob pile topsoil stockpile.
These two changes will need to be shown on an appropriate map. All of the topsoil stockpiles
were covered in snow. Appropriate sediment control measures were in place.
No explosives are currently on site. No problems were observed at the powder and cap houses.
The operator stated that the mains have been driven in about 1000 feet. Coal was being stockpiled
on the portal bench. The escape tunnel at the coal stacker tube location was being reworked. The
shop building was nearing completion. Work was continuing on the crosherlscreener structure.
Two fuel tanks on the southeast part of the portal bench were empty. The operator is using the fuel
tank farm exclusively. Construction is finished at the water tank bench above the portal bench. The
operator only needs to add riprap to the culvert outlets that are associated with that bench. The
pumphouse and substation installations aze complete. The operator needs to install new hay bales
at those two locations.
~~/
