approved sediment control strictures are straw bales keyed into the ground, end-for-end along the
entire length of the toe of the slope above watershed diversion ditch 2.
Diversion ditch #4 has not been cleaned of sediment deposition as requested in the February 2002
DMG inspection report. Page 426Rb of the approved permit application details the design criteria
for this ditch.
The south access road ditch has also not been reshaped as requested in the February DMG
inspection report (below left). Design criteria for this ditch is specified on pages 426Rc and 426Rd
of the approved permit application.
Please complete all necessary repair work prior to October 31, 2002.
Revegetation
Recent rain has helped the live vegetation at the site. Numerous grasses were noted on the
refuse slope, although they are small plants at this time. A single horse was noted grazing on the
topsoil pile footprint reclamation. Cattle were not observed on the reclaimed areas.
Overall, the site appeared in fair condition.
Page 4
A breach in refuse collection ditch no. 2 has occurred immediately above the northeast corner of
the sediment pond (above right). This gully requires repair to prevent excess sedimentation in the
pond.
