Flow Measurement Device:
A 2'H flume has been purchased to replace the 6"
Parshall flume currently on site. The H flume has a
range of accurate measurement between llgpm (0.0160MGD)
and 4,900gpm (6.366MGD) which will be more suitable to
the fluctuation in flows encountered at the Terry
Tunnel. 'rhe approach box and flume assembly will be
located up the hill from the current set up,
approximately 20' on the creek side of the road running
between Pond #2 and Eureka Creek. The flume will sit
on ground level and will be anchored to the decant pipe
in an arrangement which will eliminate the naed for
re-leveling.
2. Pond #2 Bypass Line:
A 29" culvert from Pond #1 to the flume, bypas;;ing #2
Pond will be installed at the same time as the new
flume arrangement. This will simplify future :leaning
and repair of Pond #2 which now requires a pump for
bypass.
3. Pond#2 Repair:
Sludge will Ise removed form Pond #2 and resealed with
compacted earthen material from Sunnyside Basin. This
procedure was successful in sealing Pond #1 two years
ago.
Please see attached map and drawing.
