available for review.
Discharges: The mine does not~make water so shower water and equipment
needs are provided by their well. There was no mine water discharge.
Protected Stream channels: There are none.
HAUL/ACCESS ROADS
Surfacing/maintenance/ditches and culverts and reclamation: Roads are
limited to the immediate surface distuubance of the mine. No problems
were noted. All ditches were being maintained. The culverts under the
access road to the county road were clear and functioning.
TOPSOIL
There is no active removal in process, placement is in a secure area
that is maintained and provides protection as required.
BACKFILLING AND GRADING
None in process. There are plans to change the waste rock disposal area
which includes some reconfiguration of the surface of the disturbed area
but the only disturbance outside of that is slated for the relocation of
one of the perimeter undisturbed area ditches. This will be addressed
as it occurs.
REVEGETATION
None in process.
COAL MINE WASTE
Waste rock is temporarily stored on an approved part of the surface
disturbance. The operator is changing that area to a permanent disposal
site as of the recent mine plan revision that eliminates the single
spillway violation. The outslopes of the disposal area are to be
extended for reclamation purposes per the state inspector. The current
location of the mouth of the eastern perimeter undisturbed area
diversion is to be covered with waste rock in the new proposal. That
portion of the diversion will be moved upslope. In addition, part of
the coal storage pad will be altered but it is not clear as to how that
will be constructed without further review of the plans.
