III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />Facilities <br />The operator has removed almost all of the two coal stockpiles at the loadout. Most of the <br />truck loop used for unloading coal has been cleaned up. This was done in an effort to <br />reduce the coal dust during operations. No coal trucks were rnnning during the inspection <br />so the effectiveness of the efforts can not be reported yet. <br />The coal stockpile at the crusher\screener level remains. No problems were observed at <br />any of the facilities. <br />The operations of Bowie Resources is shifting from the Bowie No. 1 Mine to the Bowie <br />No. 2 Mine. <br />Waste Piles <br />There has not been any recent additions to the West Ridge waste pile. The northeast <br />addition of the West Ridge waste pile can drain through the notch in the berm. The West <br />Ridge waste pile and the old waste pile aze well vegetated. There were no signs of slope <br />instability. No problems were noted at the ROM pile. <br />Topsoil <br />All of the topsoil stockpiles were well vegetated. All of the topsoil stockpiles had proper <br />signs, except the topsoil sign on the topsoil pile neaz the well field pumphouse has fallen <br />down and needs to be put back up. <br />All of the records were in compliance.
