The concrete check
dams in the channel haue been somewhat effectnre in reducing the rape of erosion in the channel.
The east/west drain~e on the north end of the east pit had further eroded sgnificantly since last
inspected. The gully that has formed was up to 9 deep at its deepest point. The fabric which was
placed iU prevent erosion was suspended acrcea the gully, still keyed in on each aide oif the
drain~e. Mostaf the material beneath the fabric had washed out. The impoundment at the tcp of
this drainage held war, and appeared to haue been somewhat successful in limiting erosion at the
upper end of the drainage.
Aflalareaatap Chen'a Hill (behroeen two rockpika) was impounding water, roughly 5O sq. ft., f9'
deep,
6lidee and Damage
The trod! at the west end of the East Pit did not show any sins of movement since it was first
dacu me nted.
Crad<s haee opened up at the nerthuveat end aF the Orphan Pit, apparently caused by underground
vlrorkinga.. The crad~ are outside of the reclaimed surface disturbance, in a pleviaualy und'oturbed
area.
