The majority of expansion phases are upland benches currently in pasture or hay. The depth
of the operation ie to be consistent with the elevation of the bottomland, into which the pit
will daylight.
The proposed bond amount is to cover the first three phases. Reclamation will occur there
\, to a sufficient degree for partial release before the latter phases are begun. The Division
will calculate the bond amount also, and forward the figures to the operator for review.
LETTERS OF OBJECTION
The last part of the inspection was spent discussing the informal conference and pre-hearing
conference procedures now necessary, since the Division has received letters of objection to
the expansion proposed in this amendment application. All letters will be forwarded to the
operator, and a schedule will be arranged and communicated to the operator.
There were no problems noted during the inspection.
