Aboard hearing
extended the permit for an additional 5 years, however the Mine
Land Reclamation Division (MLRD) is requiring the permit be revised
and will issue a new permit when all the revisions are reviewed and
approved. The new permit is expected to be issued by the end of
July 1992. Approximately 97 acres have been disturbed up to this
point and this was for mine development. No actual mining of coal
has been done. A rail loadout facility is planned just west of
Rifle, Co. The only disturbance at the loadout facility created by
the operator is the drilling of a water monitoring well.
