III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />The recent heavy rain has increased the depth and width of the existing rills. These rills run <br />downslope and dischazge into the PM-6 Channel. Flease repair the existing rills and gullies, and <br />take steps necessary to reduce and control erosion at this location. <br />Several culverts located azound the shop/facilities and boneyazd areas need to be cleaned out and <br />maintained to ensure that they function properly. Culvert 54A located beneath the entrance to the <br />Old Boneyard is nearly completely plugged on the inlet side. Culvert 53A located beneath the <br />entrance to the New Boneyard is covered with debris on the inlet side and partially plugged. <br />Culvert SSA at the entrance to the P M Shop is plugged on the inlet side. C~xlvert 59A located on <br />the north side of the Truck Wash Holding Pond is completely plugged with sediment and is no <br />longer functioning. To ensure compliance, cleaz the sediment and debris from these culverts and <br />continue to maintain culverts throughout the mine site. <br />Reve eg tation <br />An abundance of Canada Thistle was noted at many locations including: the embankment of the <br />Pecoco Pond, several areas along PM-6, locations along PM-4 and the reclaimed slope above the <br />PM-4 inlet, and at the Truck Wash Holding Pond. Please continue efforts to control the growth <br />of troublesome weeds throughout the Seneca II Mine site. <br />
