AGGREGATE
Tom Schreiner INDl15TRIE5
May 30, 2002
Page two
dewatering operations at the pit alone have not caused a complete draw down of the
alluvial aquifer and that overall decline in the area water table was most likely due to the
drought conditions. Additionally, shortly after receiving complaints from Mr. Broncucci,
Mr. Warmack observed an irrigation well pumping just south of Mr. Broncucci's
property, generally located north of WCR 4 and west of WCR 27. We determined our
potential impact to our closest groundwater observation point to be roughly 1 to 3 feet.
This is based on conversations with Norm Speak, the owner of the ski lake, located
immediately east of the property. Because Broncucci's wells aze located further east, the
potential impact would be significantly less. Based on these potential impacts Aggregate
Industries offered and/or mitigated in the following manner for the below listed
neighbors:
Norm Speak -Ski Lake owner -contacted AI early April
1. Pump water to ski lake east of site to act as a recharge area to the
surrounding area
Peters/Rittenhouse domestic well -contacted AI early April
2. Due to the closer proximity of the Peters/Rittenhousetyell, AI replaced the
domestic well and pump
Broncucci wells -contacted AI early April
3. Offered Mr. Broncucci the use of 6 shazes of the Fulton Ditch on April 17,
2002 - to date -not used
4. Requested verification from third party of condition of wells and pumps -
notreceived
5. Offered to pay for the drilling of current permitted wells to a deeper
depth*
6. Offered to pay for the pumps associated with the two domestic wells
7. Waiting for outcome of groundwater modeling study to determine
reimbursement for irrigation pumps
*Camfield Drilling was contacted by Mr. Broncucci and stated that drilling deeper
wells would not provide any additional water. Additionally, Camfield estimated
each well drilled would cost approximately $7,500.00. Mr. Broncucci and I
agreed a second opinion was warranted.
Thorpe well -contacted AI late April
8. Requested and received third party verification of well draw down and
condition of well
