Revegetation <br />The reclaimed area was traversed on foot. Although dry conditions have prevailed over recent <br />weeks, the vegetation on the reclaimed area appeared healthy and vigorous. Most species <br />were (lowering, helping explain the abundant population of butterfly's utilizing the vegetation. <br />Alfalfa, yellow sweet clover, bindweed, choya, and numerous annual wild flowers were <br />observed. Cool season grasses were also setting seed heads. Smooth brome and western <br />wheatgrass appeared the most abundant. Thistles were also flowering and many were cut as <br />they were encountered Cattle were observed in the pasture to the east. The gate was found <br />chained and locked. The DMG plans to conduct vegetation sampling the week of July 5. <br />Overall, the site appeared in excellent condition for early summer and no problems were noted. <br />Rimrock Mine, June 2004 <br />
