III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE /-~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~~ _~~
Puw /~ ~~~ol~?Lvt X00 / ~Z1~
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the }acts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
Revegetation/Reclamation Success: The entire mine site has been revegetated. The
Division just proposed a decision to approve a Phase II Bond Release for the 720 Pit
and Pit 1. The vegetation in the Marr Pit area is not as dense as that in the other
areas but there does not appear to be any problem with erosion. The vegetation at
the loadout is beginning to come in. There are no erosional problems at the loadout.
The site was used for grazing since the last inspection (on 22 may 2001). The
reclaimed areas still appear to be in good condition. There are six dead cattle in
and around pond A that need to be removed from the site.
Slides and Damage: The area in the Marr Pit that was reworked because of erosion
has been reseeded. It appears to be stable at this point. The rill and gully areas in Pit
1 also appear to be stable. These areas will be monitored for continued stability.
