This is a possible violation of the Colorado Land Reclamation Act
for the Extraction of Construction Materials, CRS 34-32.5-117(4)(b)(p for failure to keep an adequate financial warranty to
complete reclamation of a permitted site. However, the Division will treat this matter as a problem for the next 60 days from
the receipt of this inspection report. The operator will have approximately 60 days {August 16, 2002) from receipt of this
inspection report to post the required financial warranty. Please see PB Ol on page 3.
2) Clean up of junk and organization of remaining equipment is occurring on site. This is a useful task to complete because it
will reduce the reclamation liability at the site.
3) Several fuel ranks were observed around the site. Some were in use and some were not. Any fuel tank that contains fuel or
will be used to contain fuel must be placed within a lined, bermed area that is sufficient size to contain the entire contents of
the fuel tank or tanks upon catastrophic failure of the tank or tanks. Since this site is in an alluvial area and quite close to the
Yampa River, the fuel tanks that will be used must be placed in such containment areas by no later than )uly 31, 2002. See PB
2 below.
4) Boundary markers were checked. The boundaries along the north and west were adequately marked with fencing but it is
not clear where the easternmost boundary is located. Please locate the easternmost boundary and place clear markers along
the border.
5) The riverbank is stabilized and looks very good.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. Lester Crawford
OPERATOR: Bear River Sand & Gravel
STREET: Box 616 _ _
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Oak CreeIS,S'O 80467
cc: ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
