t III. TS -COMPLIANCE Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. The other topsoil stockpiles also were protected by straw bales. There were no signs of gullying on any of the topsoil stockpiles. HvdroloQy The water level in pond C was just below the primary dischazge tube. The water did not have the blackish color that it had during the last inspection. Ponds B and D were dry. Pond inslopes and ou[slopes were stable. Pond spillways were functional. Diversion ditches and culverts were operational. The operator was draining water from the sediment treatment facility at the water tank into the diversion ditch that runs behind the water tank bench. Because water should be kept off of the bench fill, the operator will pump the water back into the water tank rather than dischazging it down the ditch. Straw bales were functional around the mine site and at the pump house. There were no erosional problems anywhere around the mine site. The seep area on the west side of the water tank bench was wet but not flowing. The seep on the west side along the access road to the water tank bench was also wet but not flowing. Cattails are growing in this area. Gob Pile The haul road tot he gob pile was in good shape. The culvert and swale, as one enters the gob pile, were functional. The upper diversion ditch and west collection ditch were functional. There were a few small gob piles in the back of the gob bench. The small piles will be graded and compacted later.
