III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
Hvdroloev
There was very little water in pond B, most, if not all of which, came from washing down the
adjacent Old Highway 133. Pond C was ice and snow covered. Pond D was dry, with a scattering
of snow on the pond inslope. All of the pond inslopes and outslopes appeared to be erosionally
stable. Pond embankments appeared to be geotechnically stable.
Silt fence was in place downgradient of the disturbed area south of Old Highway 133.
Topsoil Stockpiles
There were no signs of erosional gullying on the coverfill and gob topsoil stockpiles.
Slope Stability
There were no signs of slope instability with any of the cut and fill slopes around the mine site.
c: \rrts97\bow ie2\insp0101
