Mine sites <br />are not land fills and only mine related refuse should be disposed on the <br />site. Mine refuse presently on site should be cleaned up. Disposal of refuse <br />could be incorporated into a small pit in the upper portion of the waste rock <br />pile. Any chemicals and toxic materials should be adequately stored while in <br />use on site and then disposed in an approved landfill. <br />5. Drainage control for this site should be investigated. Minor ditching <br />should be constructed to minimize runoff onto the site. Ditches along <br />existing roads could be utilized. <br />6. Grading of the crest and outslope of the small sedimentation pond dam <br />should be performed to stabilize this structure. Flow routing of mine water <br />discharge to this structure should be improved. <br />7. Please submit a permit amendment to currently address all site <br />operations. This amendment should include, but not be limited to, the <br />following: <br />1. Any changes and/or increase in acreage or permit boundary <br />2. Financial Warranty <br />3. Waste rock disposal <br />4. Mine refuse disposal <br />5. Drainage and runoff control <br />6. An updated map of all facilities <br />7. Chemical handling and storage (if any) <br />This should be submitted to the Division on or before December 15, 1985. <br />Please refer to Rule 3 of CMLRB Regulations. <br />/vjr <br />Doc.
