ADDITIONAL RECORDS <br />y _SL-05 Application <br />y _RN-04 Application <br />_y_ _Yearly Impoundment <br />_Inspection <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS The signpost and signs at the western permit boundary on the North <br />Thompson Creek road (Pitkin County Road 001 were replaced but erected at a wrong <br />location (approximately 200 feet inside the area of the permit). The signs need to be moved <br />back upstream to the western boundary of the permit. The lower permit boundary sign on the <br />Middle Thompson Creek Road was found missing. Other signage was in good repair, with the <br />exception of those off Pitkin County Road 001 at the entrance to the Stoney Ridge Fan Shaff <br />trail. Area of disturbance markers (green steel pickets with white tops) was in place, as was the <br />topsoil pile sign. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE There was no surface runoff from the mine or loadout sites. All but the <br />north slopes of the mine site were clear of snow. Impoundment P-9 had an estimated foot of <br />water in it. The Refuse Area impoundment contained no water. <br />The Long Pond, and Treatment Ponds 1 and 2, were at operating levels. All impoundments <br />were, as was the Developed Water Resource collection systems, in good repair (see the <br />discussion on support facilities below including Picture 293 for the that section pipe that <br />conveys Portal 1 discharge over North Thompson Creek) See Picture 293 also for the riprap <br />protection of North Thompson Creek. There was mine water discharge from both Portal 1 and <br />Portal 3. Portal 3 discharge was measured as 1 gallon in 18 seconds (0.008 cubic feet per <br />second). The discharge at the Colorado Discharge Permit System Outfall 001 (combined <br />Portal 1 and Portal 3 discharges), from T-2, was measured as 5 gallons per 15 seconds (0.044 <br />cubic feet per second). There was no pump in place at Pond T-2, and water was not being <br />pumped to the stock tank at the time of the inspection. <br />C-81-025, Page _4_ of _B_ Pages, (date) -April 23, 2003_, (initials) _BGW <br />
