III. Comments/Compliance
This was an exploration site inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on the
ThursdayJuly 31, 2003. .Accompanying the inspection Brian Watterson of RAG American.
The purpose of the inspection was for bond release on NOI 1985-159-09. This NOI was
originally awarded to Getty Oil Company in 1983 for activity during 1985. Through a series
of corporate mergers and agreements, Cyprus-AMAX and later RAG-American inherited this
NOI. The work was done nearly twenty years ago. The inspection visited as many sites as
was feasible. Many of the drill sites lay at the end of drill roads which have also been
reclaimed for twenty years now and in many cases, could nol be located at all.
Determination of reclamation success was made based on the existing maps indicating the
drill road location. On most of the sites, markers remained. On some, however, markers
have disappeared. (This is not uncommon as cattle and elk use them as scratching posts.)
Where roads to drillpads could not be located, the pads were not visited as the excellent
reclamation on the sites that could be located indicated that reclamation would be
acceptable.
Site 04-85-8 8 8c. The drillsites contains large sagebrush and rabbitbrush, yarrow,
mountain brome and wheagrass with a total cover probably >80%. There was no erosion.
The earthwork was fine. The site can't really be distinguished from the surrounding ground.
(Photo below.)
