This inspection began a[ this site <br />for the purpose of reviewing records which might not be available at <br />the mine. <br />717.11 Copies of Applicable Permits <br />A copy of a new mining and reclamation permit submission was <br />available at the Delta office. The old Belden mine at the <br />Red Canyon site had a limited impact permit which the Grand <br />Mesa Coal Company assumed at [he beginning of their redevelop- <br />ment of the property. The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation (DILR) <br />division has required [hat the operator submit a new mining and <br />reclamation plan and obtain a regular coal mining permit for the <br />new expanded operation. This new permit application was available <br />at [he mine office and it is being completed. (It was submitted <br />to P1LR on 2/18/80.) An application for a NP DES discharge point <br />had also been submitted to [he Colorado Water Quality Control <br />division. <br />717.12 Signs and Markers <br />Permit .identification signs were posted at the Delta coal loadout <br />facility and at the Red Canyon minesite. <br />717.13 PostmininR Land Use <br />The land will most likely be designated as rangeland and wildlife <br />habitat for reclamation purposes. <br />
