OBSERVATIONS
The following observations were made during a routine inspection done at the request of the
Operator.
Following the last inspection of this site in January 1998, an acreage release request was
submitted and approved by the Division. During the last inspection, the slightly too-steep
slopes around the second lake were brought to the attention of the Operator. These sloping
problems have now been corrected, and grading completed, with the final grades at 3H:1V or
shallower around both lakes.
A stockpile of crushed concrete is being kept on the site, and the Operator was informed that
if they wish to permanently store it on the site for flood control, as was explained to the
Division, then a Technical Revision to their permit must be submitted. This TR must include
the maximum amount to be kept on the site at any one time, and plans for reclaiming the
stockpile after the permit is expired. If the Operator and Landowner wish to keep the
concrete on site for ongoing flood control after reclamation of the site is completed, a
letter from the landowner agreeing to this measure will be necessary. (PB 1)
The Operator was also informed that if he wishes to make changes to the seed mix, as is being
considered, that another Technical Revision must be submitted to the Division in order to
have the changes approved. These changes may be submitted in the same Technical Revision as
those discussed above, but they do not need to be submitted until the changes in the seed mix
become necessary.
No other problems exist at this time.
