BLM. BLM's only Comment on this area was concern over the
sparse revegetation, particularly on the steep reclaimed portal
slopes. We discussed some ways in which these small, isolated
areas might be included with revegetation sampling on the
remainder of the mine areas.
The S fan site and borrow area have been regraded to AOC, and
all equipment has been removed.
Day 2.
Cameo Refuse Disposal Area 1 has been completed, except for the
access road and a small portion at the SW corner, which are
being left open for disposal of any coal fines resulting from
reclamation of the remainder of the mine; this small area is not
part of the bond release. As yesterday, Dan Matthews has
checked cover depths, slopes, etc. Water monitoring points
continue to show no water build-up within the pile.
CRDA-2 has been completed, the access road reclaimed and
terraces restored. The original upper clean-water diversion has
been reclaimed. The upper part of the pile has been reworked to
divert runoff from above around the pile. The E 100-year ditch
still goes under the reclaimed access road through a temporary
culvert; this must still be removed, but is excluded from the
bond release area.
All topsoil storage and borrow areas in this vicinity have been
reclaimed.
At the North Portal area, the incline has been
borrow and demolished facilities, and shows no
entire area has been regraded to AOC and resoi
channel drainways have not yet been installed.
road crossing of Coal Creek has been regraded;
yet been installed.
backfilled with
settling.
