III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection, conducted by Joe Dudash of the Colorado DMG. No one <br />represented the operator during the field inspection. Bill Beaz represented the operator <br />during the records check. The general area received a precipitation event two days before. <br />Weeds <br />There were several kinds of noxious weeds found on the mine site. Whitetop was <br />scattered azound the flat mine site azea. However, a heavy concentration of whitetop was , <br />located just east of the sedimentation pond. There is a lot of tamarisk (salt cedaz) along <br />the collection ditch leading to the sedimentation pond and just to the south of the mine <br />_ _ _ site entrance gate. A lazge patch of Canadian thistle was observed along the outslope of <br />the lower section of the reclaimed road that leads to the reclaimed portal bench. Scattered <br />occurrences of Canadian thistle and houndstongue were present along the entire length of <br />the reclaimed road. A small grouping of yellow toadsflax was seen just south of the <br />section of the sedimentation pond collection ditch that is adjacent to alluvial well AW-3. <br />The mine site must be sprayed for noxious weeds very soon. <br />Sims and Mazkers <br />The mine ID sign was present at the top of the hill and contained the correct information. <br />Pemut boundary mazkers were up azound the mine site. <br />Roads <br />The paved entrance road was in good condition. The cable was strung across the entrance <br />to the mine site at the top of the hill. The bridge was passable. The entrance gate was <br />closed and latched, but not locked. <br />Facilities <br />There were no problems at the office building. <br />
