2.0 EXHIBIT REQUIREMENTS
The below sections present the information required in Rule 6.4.4 and summarized
in Section 1, above.
2.1 Mining Methods (Rule 6.4.4(a))
Mining will be by surface excavation and segregated stockpiling of commodity soils
and overburden soils. Below ground mining or blasting will not be used.
2.2 Earthmoving (Rule 6.4.4(b))
Earthmoving and excavations will be conducted by typical surface excavation and
mining methods, including (but not limited to) bulldozers, trackhoes, front-end
loaders and scrapers. Clay and overburden soils will be segregated during
excavations and transported by dump truck (end or belly dump) to designated
stockpiles on-site. The location proposed for stockpiles of mined clay are shown as
Area 2 on Figure D-1.
2.3 Water Diversion and Movement (Rule 6.4.4(c))
Water diversion and movement associated with mining (Area 1) will be within both
temporary and permanent drainage features constructed concurrent with landfill
operations and will include diversion channels and ponds. Additionally, the mining
for this permit will primarily be associated with the below grade excavations for
landfill disposal cells, which will be pumped of water as needed, or water will be
used for dust control, vegetation, or other beneficial uses during cell excavation (i.e.,
mining). No water diversion is proposed for the Area 2 stockpile and staging area.
2.4 Mining Areas (Rule 6.4.4(d))
The mining areas 1 and 2 (including size) are presented on Figure D-1.
2.5 Mining Timetable (Rule 6.4.4(e))
Timing of the mining activities will coincide in part with the future waste disposal
needs of the communities and businesses served by the landfill. The Area 1 mining
will likely be performed in 3 to 6 stages, with each stage closed (after removal of
mined soils during excavation of the disposal cells) by the installation of the landfill
Weaver Consultants Group,LLC
Q:WASTE CONNECTIONS)SEDALIA EXPANSION 2024DRMS 112 PERMITEXHIBIT D-MINING PLAN.DOC Rev.0,10/30/25
D-2
